What's up?

The psychological horror short I shot a year ago, NAILS, is officially a semi-finalist at the 2017 Moondance International Film Festival! Starting a gofundme so I can afford a flight to the moon.

Like photos of heads as much as I do? Then you might be interested in the talents of Vanie Poyey. I had a fun headshot session with her recently and believe you me, her work really is astounding. Check out some of the shots on my Photos page!
Hit her up if you're in need of some beautiful photos and are located in the LA area... or Detroit apparently.

Oh, here I go creepin' again! Had a great first shoot day on the darkroom set of DIANE. Directed by Jazmin Aguilar with some beautiful DPing by Marijo Saulon. Looking forward to the rest of the shoot.

No, that's not my dead face, that's my "FAKE BLOOD AND GUTS ARE REALLY COLD" face.
Check me out on DEVIL'S DOMAIN in year or whenever they finish editing it. Two cameras doesn't make the job easier (speaking from experience here).
Thanks to director, Jared Cohn, casting director/line producer, Kelly Decker, the SFX artists, and fantastic crew for making death so much fun.

Had a great time on this commercial shoot with fellow "Brasileiros" and SMASH productions. Here's to finally being tan enough to be cast as a Brazilian! Now to figuring out this whole Instagram filter thing...

Awww Gabey-poo, why so sad? Is it because NAILS is still only in post-production? Don't worry, it should be done sometime this June! Then off to the festival circuit.

Busy week! Booked Anthony Harriman's psychological thriller short, NAILS as well as GALAXY PRESS's promotional campaign for the rerelease of the works of L. Ron Hubbard.

Just booked my first short film since coming to Los Angeles in Sherveen Uduwana's RADAR.
The time has come. Join me for my final theatrical New York performance (for now) before I leave for Los Angeles in Kaela Mei-Shing Garvin's Corner's Grove. A reverent nod to Our Town by Thornton Wilder, Corners Grove follows a group of young people in the town of Corners Grove from high school into adulthood as they deal with leaving home, falling in love, gender identity, and the death of Whitney Houston. Directed by Gemma Kaneko, Corners Grove is part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity at The Paradise Factory.
Performance Dates and Times: Wednesday July 1st at 7:00pm Friday July 3rd at 3:30pm Saturday July 4th at 4:15pm Friday July 10th at 8:30pm Saturday July 11th at 9:00pm www.planetconnections.org |

After much thought and deliberation, I've made the difficult choice to move to Los Angeles, California. While I've enjoyed greatly my many years in New York and the many friends and artistic opportunities I've been blessed with, now I must resign to my dislike of the cold and love of all things Mexican. I'll be settling down back in my birth state this September, but don't worry, with the help of the interweb you can keep up with all my exploits.
After a brief hiatus I'm excited to announce that I have begun writing and preproduction with Michael Tascarella and Kenny Frost on a new series of comedic sketches coming soon to the interweb. More information to come! Until then, join us in our joy with this jolly photo of the first of the series, A Capella Fellaz!

Plastic, a short film I worked on last summer just got accepted into the Friar's Club Comedy Festival! Plastic is a hilarious ensemble piece directed by Olivia Saperstein where I play the lovably pretentious Liam. It was an incredibly fun shoot and make sure to watch the teaser! I'm proud of the cast and crew and can't wait to see it on April 4th. You can come too, simply click the photo to the right for ticket information!

While I may've killed it as party-goer, wounded patient, and FBI agent on big network TV shows, I'm happy for my first non-extra TV role on Travel Channel's Mysteries at the Museum. I play Al Key, a pilot in the World Wars who with his brother set the longest endurance flight record and in the process create a revolutionary fuel nozzle which is still the basis for fuel nozzles used today. I'm a nerd, history's fun.

Tonight's the night! Come get over your horrible Valentine's Day at Boxed Wine Productions' a Night of Hate and see me play Brutus in a Julius Caesar dance/fight piece directed by me and choreographed by Alisa Fendley. It's happening at The 6IX Studio, 1160 Broadway (at 27th st.), 4th floor, in the heart of Flat Iron. Only $7 to get it and doors open at 8pm. See you tonight!

Tonight I hosted the Boxed Wine Film Festival, or, should I say LA agent Noah Banks flew in just in time to host the event. It was my first time hosting or doing any real comedy set. The laughs told me that people think I've got the funny. Looks like those improv classes have been paying off too because I was able to save the night after some technical difficulties occurred and I had to keep the audience entertained. It was a fun night that makes me kind of want to try stand up comedy.
Had my class show for Improv 301 at Upright Citizens Brigade tonight. It was a challenging but always fun 8 weeks and I can't believe how good we're all getting at making up shit on the spot. Next up, Improv 401.

I just finished a great run of The School for Lies! It was a hilarious time with very talented artists. I hope to work with all of them again. That being said, I start working with The School for Lies castmates Jessica Smith and Miles G. Jackson on A.P. Andrews' and Michael Lapinsky's irreverent Christmas pageant Jolly The Christmas Walrus. I reprise my role as Buck the Mail Walrus. The event happens December 13th at 8pm at All Saint's Church!

Today was a very busy day of shooting. Got up bright and early to shoot the pilot of a new revenge comedy series directed by Andoni Nava and created by/starring Mark Soloman and Julia Sherman. Always wonderful to work with such smart and poignant artists.
I then ran to another shoot, my last shooting day for 2 Girls 1 Asian. I'm wrapped! It's been great to work with the edgy comedic stylings of Kaela Garvin and Kelly Coburn, but now they continue on without me, although I understand that I may be editing a couple of the episodes. So after a long day, I'm ready for a drink!

I started rehearsals for Boxed Wine Productions' The School for Lies today. After only the first read through I can already see the cast is hilariously sharp. Looking forward to working with director Lauren Erwin; she knows the play inside and out and has a very specific vision. Guys, this is going to be a good one. It goes up for three nights only at Madame X, December 6-8 at 7pm.
Started Improv 301 at Upright Citizens Brigade today! It's exciting to stop planning for a minute and just do what comes to me. That being said, that can be really scary too. Regardless, happy to be here!

Today was the first day of shooting for 2 Girls 1 Asian, a new web series created by Kaela Garvin and Kelly Coburn about two half-Asian roommates and their search for love and work in the big city. I play Jesse, lovable albeit cheating boyfriend to Kaela. Had a lot of fun shooting, can't wait until the next shoot day!

I'm back in New York just after finishing a two week run of A.P. Andrews' new play Optimism, Or. I play George, a man trying to piece his life back together after the death of his fiancé; there's also a sea monster in it. It was nice to get away from the city but I'm very happy to be back to the hustle and bustle after living the quiet life in Nebraska for just over a month. Thank you so much to the people of Superior, Nebraska for being so hospitable and supportive of our work. And thanks for all the food!

Started a long emotional shoot today for Nursing, directed by Tyler Byrnes. I play Miles, a boy coping with the loss of his mother by turning romantic attention to his mother's former nurse.

Finished our first day of shooting Target Practice, and as always, it's a pleasure to work with my brother on one of his films and it's fitting as I play Gavin, also an annoying little brother. Tomorrow should be just as fun, but we're shooting outside, so here's hoping for continuity!

We just closed our incredibly well received two week run of Neil Simon's The Star-Spangled Girl. Good thing too, the audiences of Superior, Nebraska needed a moment to catch their breath from all the laughter.

Just finished the first day of shooting for Plastic, an original short film written and directed by Olivia Saperstein. Had so much fun, can't wait to work with such a fun, talented cast and crew again tomorrow!
Very happy to announce that I have completed and passed Upright Citizens Brigade Improv level 201. Thank you Erik Tanouye for teaching such a great class. Can't wait for 301!

I'm delighted to announce that playwright A.P. Andrews has invited me to help develop his new play, Optimism, Or with a two week run of performances in his hometown of Superior, Nebraska. In addition, we'll be doing a two week run of Neil Simon's The Star-Spangled Girl. My brother, Dorian Carli-Jones and fellow filmmaker, Tyler Byrnes, will also be accompanying us to each shoot a short film as well. Stay posted for updates!
I'm at this directing and editing thing again! Check out the promotional video for Boxed Wine Productions' Valhalla, going up at The Secret Theatre May 2-5, 8-12 at 8pm. Go to boxedwineproductions.com for info on how to get tickets!

My film Beyond the Tracks premiered at Boxed Wine Productions' Speakeasy: a cabernet cabaret and was very well received. Stay tuned, Beyond the Tracks will be up on the web soon, but sadly the live accompaniment will have to be replaced with digitally recorded audio!
After doing a lot of freelance editing work, I've directed (and edited) my first anything really. It's a promotional video for Boxed Wine Productions' Speakeasy: a cabernet cabaret on February 28th at 9:30pm at Jimmy's No. 43 at 43 E. 7th St. Coincidentally, there will be a premiere of my most recent film Beyond the Tracks, a silent film with live accompaniment. Make sure to come out! Click the photo to the right to watch the video and if you feel the need to drink afterwards, don't worry, you're not the only one.

Just shot my first silent short film! Beyond the Tracks is a beautiful film written and directed by Dorian Carli-Jones about the what happens when a man looking for work in the nice part of town comes across the love of his life and lengths he'd go to have her.

Jolly the Christmas Walrus was a huge success! Thanks to all who came out to this fun, uniquely irreverent Christmas pageant. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

Just finished a great run as George in Kaela Garvin's Our Towns. Thanks Boxed Wine family, feeling so blessed to be able to work with such great people and look forward to playing Buck the mailman walrus in Jolly the Christmas Walrus on December 7th at 7:30pm at All Saint's Church at 80th Street and Broadway! Come enjoy an irreverent Christmas pageant created by A.P. Andrews* and Michael Lapinsky!

Had a great show with my graduating UCB Improv 101 group, Epic Stashes! Can't wait for Improv 201!
Cast as George in Kaela Garvin's Our Towns, part of Boxed Wine Productions' Off The Map. Our Towns, one of three one-acts, is a spoof of the Thorton Wilder classic that follows a group of four twenty-somethings in the suburb of Corner's Grove, California as they endure a year of love, jealousy, and hardships, including the death of Whitney Houston. November 14th-18th at The Access Theater. Check out a video I put together of interviews with the playwrights!
